You can choose the placement of various windows by right-clicking the window header to access the context menu, or by clicking the Window Position (down arrow) button on the header to display a menu with the following options:
window: Displays within the workspace as a separate, moveable window. To close a floating window click the "X" button in the upper right corner of the window.
window: Displays or auto-hides on a designated side of the main window. To dock a window, drag the open window to the desired edge (top, bottom, left, or right) of the main window. During the move, a docking target displays to help you position the window. Drag the window until the cursor is over the docking target arrow of the desired orientation (top, bottom, left, or right), wait for the main window to turn blue in the target area, and then release the mouse button to dock the window. The following figure shows a docking target with its right side (arrow) selected to specify that the Browser is placed on the right in the main window.
You can also choose
from the context menu to specify the docked window location.Tabbed Document from the window's context menu. The Structure window in the previous figure is a tabbed document.
: Displays as a tab on the top of the main window. You can drag tabs to reorder them. To change a dockable window to a tabbed document, drag the window onto the center of the docking target arrow that displays when you begin to move the window, or choosewindow: Auto-hiding windows collapse into tabs shortly after losing focus and then display again in full view when you move the cursor over the tab. To auto-hide a docked window, you can choose from the window's context menu, or click the Auto Hide (push pin) button in the upper right corner of the window. To quit auto-hide mode, choose this option again to toggle it off.
: To remove a window from the workspace, choose from the window's context menu.
To restore a closed or hidden window, on the View ribbon, in the Controls group, click and choose the window name from the drop-down menu.
