4.2.3. Running a Solve

After generating an initial mesh, a solve can be run by choosing Solve in the Execution group on the Simulation ribbon. A job is created and scheduled for execution when resources become available. While the job runs, job status information is passed back in the job log and progress bars show the progress of each individual Adaptive Mesh Refinement iteration and the job as a whole. For more information, see “Displaying Simulation Status and Results”. The simulation is complete when the label on the Simulation view displays "Overall: Complete" and the progress bar color changes from blue to green.

A solve can also be run after a simulate or refine solution operation completes. In this case, the more recent mesh is solved on again but using the current solver settings. This can be a quick way to make changes to the solver and not incur the cost of a full AMR sequence.
