3.5.5.3. Example - Lofting Surface Solids

  1. On the Structure ribbon in the Entity Creation group, click Draw Entity and choose Rectangle from the drop-down menu.

  2. Draw a rectangle with the corner at (0.0, 0.0, 0.0) cm and an extent of (1.0, 0.5) cm.

  3. Change the working plane offset to "1 cm".

  4. Click Draw Entity and choose Circle from the drop-down menu.

  5. Draw a circle with the center at (0.0, 0.0, 0.0) cm and a radius of 0.5 cm.

  6. Select the Geometry node in the Browser (or press Esc) to de-isolate the circle.

  7. On the Structure ribbon in the Entity Modification group, click Advanced and choose Loft Faces.

  8. Pick both faces in the Structure view by clicking them in sequence while pressing the Shift key. The order of the picks is not important.

    The view displays the lofted solid joining the rectangle and the circle. Notice that the lofted solid has a presence in the Browser under the Geometry node. Both the circle and rectangle are located under the Creation > Profiles node.
