3.5.4.8. Example - Sweeping a Surface Solid

  1. On the Structure ribbon in the Entity Creation group, click Draw Entity and choose Rectangle from the drop-down menu.

  2. Draw a rectangle with the corner at (0.0, 0.0, 0.0) cm and an extent of (1.0, 0.5) cm.

  3. Change the working plane orientation to YZ.

  4. Click Draw Entity and choose Polyline from the drop-down menu.

  5. Draw a polyline with points at (0.0, 0.0, 0.0) cm, (0.0, 0.0, 1.0) cm, and (0.0, 1.0, 1.0) cm.

  6. Select the Geometry node in the Browser (or press Esc) to de-isolate the polyline.

  7. In the Entity Modification group, click Advanced and then choose Sweep.

  8. Pick rectangle and on the Structure view toolbar click Done (or press Enter).

  9. Pick polyline and on the Structure view toolbar click Done (or press Enter).

    The view displays the swept solid. Notice that the swept solid has a presence in the Browser under the Geometry node. The rectangle is located under the Creation > Profiles node and the polyline is located under the Creation > Paths node.
