3.6.13.1. Reference

Description

Wrap planar (zero thickness) bodies (for example rectangles, circles, sketched Sheets) around target solids.

Parameters

Label - A unique name that identifies the solid. (ISolid/Label)

Coordinate System - The coordinate system in which the solid is defined. Defaults to working coordinate system at time of creation. (ISolid/CoordinateSystem)

Material - Chosen material for the solid. (ISolid/Material)

Include in Simulation - Indicates if the solid is included in the simulation. If False, the solid is also not shown in the view. (ISolid/Include)

Visible - Indicates if the solid is shown in the view. (ISolid/Visible)

Mesh Control Only - Indicates if the solid is used as a tool to control meshing. If True, the portion of the solid that does not overlap the other normal solid is thrown away prior to simulation. Additionally, the material of such a solid is irrelevant so the material parameter is hidden. (ISolid/MeshControlOnly)

Command Details

Mouse click order is:
1. Planar sheet body/bodies
2. Surface of target solid around which body/bodies are to be wrapped.
See command hint for detailed instructions.

Requirements

Multiple planar bodies can be chosen to wrap but at least one of these must touch the target solid.

Other Notes

Double-curved target solids (such as spheres) may or may not work. If they do work, expect some distortion which may or may not be acceptable (the operation is similar to placing a sticker on a ball).

Target solids with sharp corners (more than 10 degrees) may cause difficulties. Experience shows that some cases work and others to not. Problematic cases should be sent to Support.
