Symmetry (Reflect)

Description

A boundary condition that allows you to model only a portion of a structure and forces the tangential electric field to zero. Additionally, particles that hit this boundary condition result in the launch of a complimentary particle.

Simulator Applicability

2D Electrostatic Particles (MICHELLE)

3D Electrostatic Particles (MICHELLE)

Common Uses

To reduce the computational resources necessary to simulate a structure.

Requirements

Must be applied only to exterior faces.

Must be applied only to planar faces.

Limitations

Parameters

Label - A unique name that identifies the attribute. (IAttribute/Label)

Color - Color used on objects to which this attribute is applied. (IAttribute/Color)

Associated Specie Name – Particle species to reflect off the associated surfaces. (IMICHELLE_Reflection/SpecieName)

Example Creation Script

MICHELLE_Reflection_2 = AttributeSet_1.NewBoundaryCondition("MICHELLE_Reflection", "Reflection_1")
