5.5. 2D/3D Magnetostatics (MS2p/MS3p)

MS2p and MS3p are the magnetostatic solver components of the Analyst solver library. MS3p is the 3D magnetostatic solver component, and it solves for the magnetic field in the 3D Cartesian coordinate system. MS2p is the 2D magnetostatic solver component, and it solves for the magnetic field in both 2D Cartesian coordinates, and 2D cylindrical coordinates. MS2p and MS3p will solve for the magnetic field in the presence of linear and nonlinear media such as iron, and both permanent magnets and coils may be used as sources. As with other solvers in Analyst, MS2p and MS3p are parallel solvers and can be used on one or more processors.

Typical applications include coils, periodic permanent magnet stacks, focusing magnets, etc.
