Cut Plane

Description

Samples a field across a specified plane. A measurement is then often taken of the annotation to allow the inspection of the samples in either a table or chart.

Annotation Types

Field, Particle

Parameters

Label - A unique name that identifies the filter. (IFilter/Label)

Point - [LENGTH] – A point on the plane about which to cut. Defined in the world coordinate system. (ICutPlaneFilter/CoordinateSystem)

Normal - Vector normal to plane about which to cut. Defined in the world coordinate system. This is a unitless vector and its magnitude is irrelevant. (ICutPlaneFilter/Normal)

Number of Planes - Number of planes about which to cut. (ICutPlaneFilter/Number)

Plane Spacing (n > 1) - [LENGTH] - Spacing between planes. Only visible if number of planes is greater than one. (ICutPlaneFilter/PlaneSpacing)

Example(s)

User Interface Button

Requirements

The magnitude of the normal vector must be nonzero. Number of planes must be greater than 0.

Example Script

Config_1 = FieldAnnotation_1.Get_IFieldAnnotation().GetConfig()
ClipFilter_1 = Config_1.Get_IAnnotationConfig().NewFilter("CutPlaneFilter", "Cut Plane_1")

Scripting Interfaces

“ICutPlaneFilter”
“IFilter”
